Louisa Donado Reid aka Lu

When they arrived, they were met by what appeared to be a young girl, named Xyla, and Trey’s oldest daughter Harmonia .  Lu was made aware of magic, something Trey had previously kept hidden from her.  She soon discovered that Xyla was a dragon in disguise, and her half sister was an unstable sorceress.  The three of them had been traveling together for centuries in search of magical artifacts. Xyla realized  Lu could be very useful to her. Lu enjoyed looking after Harmonia, and she had an extraordinary ability to maintain knowledge.  Xyla placed her under a youth spell, the same one she had placed on Trey years before. Lu, threw herself into work researching and classifying the magical artifacts that Trey and Xyla brought her.

Family

Lu is also the keeper of the family tree. Trey is almost 300 years old and has been procreating for most of his long life.  She keeps track of all her siblings and their children. Harmonia  helps her when she’s able. This project originally brought the two sisters together. Harmonia  is also under a youth spell, but it was meant for another. She has a powerful gift in magic - when she’s able to use it correctly. Her mind is somewhat scattered. Sometimes she’ll wander off and won’t remember who she is.  Lu always manages to find her and bring her home safely.  She is her sisters keeper.  The sisters no longer travel with their father. Lu  works as librarian at Magick School where she continues to research history and magic.

Sister 

It was no surprise to Lu when Harmonia realized they had another little, half-sister. Over a century ago, Trey  had a brief romantic relationship with a time traveler who happened to be Vanni’s sister, Chinatsu. Chinatsu and Meg are now living in the Elvin realm.

Brother

Lu was aware of Quinn, as she is with all her siblings, but only met him a few times. She was in England,meeting 

with the Committee  when Harmonia called and told her  to  invite him to the Home of the Lady with the Dog. She explained that he was nearing the age when his magic, 

if he had any, would reveal itself. Quinn had no idea magic was real. Lu has educated him in the family’s supernatural history.  She’s very impressed with how well he’s adjusted to all this new knowledge. She assisted the Magic professors in preparing tests for him to take to see if he’s inherited any of the family’s gifts.  She’s also his legal guardian while he’s in the U.S.

A Niece

Tahariel is Harmonia’s daughter.  Lu has been part of her life since she was born. Tahariel, like her aunt, is in constant search of knowledge. The two research projects together and  compare notes, each learning from the other. Tahariel is living in the home of the Lady with the Dog to attend college and be near her mother. She knows her aunt watches over her mother and wants to help. One of her goals is to become a doctor to find a cure for her mother and others like her. Lu is all too happy to help. 

A Youth Spell

Xyla knew Lu’s supernatural photogenic memory would be  very helpful to her. She’s also the only person who keep track of Harmonia’s whereabouts  - something Xyla felt is a waste of her time. So, Xyla put Lu under a youth spell without asking her or her father. Lu had no desire to extend her life. She’ss never forgiven Xyla for doing this to her. She can barley tolerate Xyla. 

The Committee

The Committee is an ancient organization that guides Seekers (aka vampire hunters). They sought Lu out because of her extensive knowledge on anything supernatural. They assigned her to be guardian of Cammeo, a retired Seeker. The Committee knew that a very important  book on vampires had gone missing. They suspected that Cammeo’s twin, Herita,  had it. Lu moved into the home of the Lady with the Dog and her sister, Harmonia, soon  followed.  Then it was discovered  Herita did have the book and was using it to try to become a vampire again. Lu escorted her back to the Committee where she would get the help she needed. Lu is Cammeo and Herita’s legal guardian.
