Back Story
Cammeo and her twin, Herita, were born in London in 1844. They were special. Vampires noticed them. They sensed the twins’ supernatural strength and saw them as a threat. Cammeo and Herita's parents reluctantly gave their daughters over to the Committee to ensure their safety. The Committee is an organization that guides the supernaturally gifted. The twins became Seekers, a secret force of enhanced beings specializing in terminating evil vampires.
The twins became the wards of Mr. Webster, who was part of the Committee. He protected them as they completed their training, while providing them with an alter identity - by day they were companions of his little daughter, Mirabell, at night they hunted vampires. All was fine until Herita fell in love with Edward. One night, Edward followed them on a hunt, fell victim to a vampire and was turned. Herita, in her grief, let the vampire turn her too.
Seekers
Cammeo, the eldest twin, acted as the leader. She was the stronger of the two and better strategist, always planning the hunts. She was also a musical prodigy, she was able to read music and play by ear at the age of four. Mirabel was happy to sit and listen. Herita was gifted in other ways. She loved to cook and learned to mix potions.
When Herita became a vampire, Cammeo's world fell apart. She didn't want to terminate her only sister, but the vampire blood made Herita mad. She became obsessed with the her twin and the Websters . She desperately wanted to bring Cammeo over. Cammeo refused and warned her to leave the family alone.
Cammeo told the Websters they sneeded to leave England,for their safety. They went to the new world and unbeknownst to them Herita followed them.
The Websters settled in Ohio. Mirabel fell ill. Cammeo recognized her symptoms, and knew what to do. It didn't take long for her to catch Edward in the nursery, feeding off the child. Cammeo threw him into the fireplace, ending him. Herita was furious! She confronted Cammeo and the two fought. Sunrise was approaching forcing Herita to flee. Cammeo, armed with kerosene, followed her to her crypt. She trapped Herita inside her casket and set it on fire. Herita the vampire was no more.
When Cammeo returned home, she found that Mirabell had died. She was grief stricken and wanted no more from life. The Committee granted her a magically induced sleep so she could heal. She welcomed the nothingness.
Cammeo slept for a century, then something woke her.
Love
Cammeo had never known love before. Mez made her aware of feelings she didn't know she had. Being new to this century, she was afraid of all its modern technology. Mez acted as her mentor and protector while helped him appreciate music. He slowly courted her and soon they were enjoying all the new experiences of first love together.
She didn't know about his relationship with Cammeo. They ended up spending the night together. Cammeo caught them and fell to pieces. Mez was beside himself with guilt for hurting her. Es, who felt awful about the whole thing, did all she could to get them back together. They were apart for a long time and then found each other again. The two have a more mature relationship now.
An Empath
Daprima, using her empathic powers, was trying to locate her siblings and found Cammeo instead. Cammeo gained a sense of consciousness and found Mez and Grace, sending their locations to Daprima in dreams. Cammeo became curious about them and became whole again. When she fully awakened, she gazed into the clear blue eyes of Mez.
A Nanny
Everything was going great until Cammeo became the nanny to Lithium, Racolo and Es's baby. Since Es was a vampire, Cammeo felt she was a danger to the baby and the Seeker in her needed to protect him. She took this job very seriously and began to take Mez for granted. He got frustrated with the whole situation and one night, he turned to Es.
plan when a book on vampire magic fell into her hands, in it she found the potion, First Blood. She’d control Karanthir with this potion. However, the information in this book was for humans who had been turned, not elves. Herita brewed her potion and had Karanthir, an elf, drink it. It made him ill. She couldn’t understand what went wrong . Never one to give up, she moved on to Esmodonti, a full vampire. Es unknowingly drank
She’s Back
When Cammeo was first touched by Daprima’s mind, no one knew Herita’s essence was affected. Twins, so closely connected with their supernatural abilities, meant what- ever magically happened to one, happened to the other. As Cammeo grew stronger so did Herita, who wanted revenge for Edward’s death. Eventually, she manifested into a spirit. She planned to haunt Cammeo. Her plans were ruined by an innocent wish made by Grace and granted by Io, the genie. Herita found herself trapped in the body of a human girl. She didn’t like it and came up with a way to become a vampire again. She got herself invited into the Crew’s home, by Karanthir, a half vampire. She wanted to trick him into bringing her over and soon, came up with a
A Guardian
The Committee knew of the twins' history and suspected that Herita was not well. They also knew that when Herita was a Seeker all those years ago, they had failed her, so they sent Lu to watch over the sisters. Lu escorted Herita back to the Committee, to get her the help she needed . When Lu returned, she became Cammeo’s legal guardian.
the Violin
Cammeo's music’s so important to her that when she first became whole she was unable to communicate with words. Instead, she 'spoke' using melodies the recipient would hear in their head. Once Daprima presented Cammeo with an actual violin - she spoke (in a very proper British accent). She continues to play and tutor others.
Although Cammeo’s still a Seeker her supernatural skills are dormant. She hopes to remain ‘retired’ from active duty, but is prepared to pick up the stake if needed.
Charlotte
is a doll that Mez gave to Cammeo. Cammeo adored her - until Wysh magicked the vampire part of Herita into the doll. It took some time for the Crew to figure this out. Then they got Herita out of the doll. Cammeo had a hard time re-bounding with doll so she sold to Trey.
Tahariel
Even though these two are very different - they’ve found common ground. They both understand the supernatural and love dolls When Lu, Tahariel’s aunt, became Cammeo’s legal guardian - they all welcomed her into the family - something she’s never had before.
The potion. An elf-vampire’s metabolism is slower than a humans. When the First Blood struck Es, much later than Herita anticipated, she attacked the first person she came in contact with - Zyfan. By now, the Crew knew something was up. Mez found the book on vampires Herita stole and confronted her. She went mad. Harmonia’s magic was used to subdue her and the Committee stepped in. Zyfan survived the attack.
