GRACE:
Daprima said you’re going to see Magical Michael in California
tomorrow. Why do you want to go there? It’s not safe you know.
They have earthquakes and mudslides and forest fires.
Sounds pretty dangerous to me, yes it does.
MEZ:
I'll be OK. I just need to get away for a little while.
GRACE:
Get away from what? Certainly not me. I’m the best little sister you could ever have, yes I am. So why do you want to leave me?
MEZ:
I’m not leaving you. I’m just going on a little vacation, that's all.
GRACE:
Why do you get to go on a vacation when I don’t? That’s not fair.
Isn’t Disneyland in California? Maybe I could take the subway
there and we could go see Mickey Mouse together ...
MEZ:
You can’t take the subway from New York to
Disneyland, it’s too far away.
GRACE:
It is? But Mez, won’t you be lonely without me? I would hate it if
you were, yes I would. I know, you can take Hello Kitty with you.
MEZ:
I can’t take Hello Kitty, I know how important she is to you.
And won’t she miss you?
GRACE:
Of course she will. Hello Kitty loves me,
yes she does, but someone has to look after you.
MEZ:

GRACE:

before. She’ll have a vacation, just like you. There’s
just one thing you have to promise me.

GRACE:
Don’t let Magical Michael play with her.
MEZ:
Why not? I thought you liked him.
GRACE:
I did, until he decided to sleep in my pop-up-tent.
MEZ:
Not the tent again.
GRACE:
He comes to my house and sleeps in my new pop-up-tent
- without my permission. Brynie and him ganged up against me
and you let them, yes you did! How could you do that to me?
MEZ:
Grace that happened months ago.
GRACE:
I don’t care. It was my pop-up-tent and you sided against me. Me - your precious little sister. It still makes me so mad, yes it does.
GRACE:
…You know what? Give me back Hello Kitty! She’s staying here with me, yes she is. Have a nice trip.

KARANTHIR:
Mez, I see you’re wearing your necklace
again. Glad I was able to locate it for you.
KARANTHIR:
... Did it stir up any memories from our evening
together? Or shall I tell you all the graphic details?
MEZ:
That’s OK, I’m good.
KARANTHIR:
Wonderful. Well, aren’t you going to thank me?
MEZ:
For what?
KARANTHIR:
You're going to the west coast tomorrow, correct?
I’ll even wager your little holiday was Daprima’s idea.

have planned this.
KARANTHIR:
Oh no? I knew if I could get your sister to think there
was even a remote chance that I could ... have you,
in the physical sense, she’d move you out of my reach.
KARANTHIR:
… Forgive me for not filling you in on the details beforehand,
but you simply lack a proper poker face. Besides,

KARANTHIR:
Certainly. Oh and Mez, while you’re frolicking in the
California sun, do give my love to Magical Michael for me. Tah.
MEZ:

GRACE:
You’re welcome Mez. What did I do?
MEZ:
You’re just a great sister, that’s all.
GRACE:
Of course I am. Don’t I always tell you so.
MEZ:
Yeah, you do.

Uh-oh, I think I’m in trouble. Daprima told me to stop bossing
people around. Did I just boss Karanthir out of the room?
Am I going to have to apologize?
