290 - A Witch
Lu Racolo
Monday in Racolo’s office at Magick School …
LU:
… Racolo, I just saw Es in the hall. I’ve never seen her so giddy.
Congratulations on your engagement. When’s the wedding?
RACOLO:
This Saturday, and thanks.
LU:
So soon?
RACOLO:
It’s not like we just met. I mean, we went on our first
date when I was sixteen.
LU:
You know you’ll need a license.
RACOLO:
We’re doing that tomorrow. All that’s left is finding
someone to marry us. Aless wants to, but he’s too young.
LU:
Look no further, I’m a Notary and in the state of Florida,
I can perform a marriage ceremony. Talk it over with Es
and let me know.
RACOLO:
I will, thanks.
LU:
So how is she otherwise? Has she fully adjusted to
enjoying the sunlight in safety?
RACOLO:
Yeah, but now she wants to be able eat real food.
I can’t find rune for that …
LU:
What if the solution wasn’t magical at all?
RACOLO:
Meaning?
LU:
Well, in this day and age, if one is lactose intolerant,
for example, medication can be prescribed so one can
enjoy the occasional ice cream treat.
LU:
… Why not create a remedy that can act in the same way for her?
RACOLO:
Hmmm, that’s not really my area of expertise.
LU:
I’m sure the research would be fascinating but I’m busy with a
project for Daprima. Perhaps my niece can be of assistance?
RACOLO:
Who?
LU:
Tahariel. She arrived the other day with Harmonia. She’s has
a knowledge of Wiccan medicines, and has dabbled
in witchcraft. I’ll have her talk to you about it.
LU:
… I better get going. I have a staff meeting to attend.
RACOLO:
So now we have a witch in the house, interesting.
