BRYNIE:
… Vanni told me to come in here and wait for him. What's going on?
ORRIE:
He gonna tell us something but we need Fin. Vanni looking for him.
BRYNIE:
So Vanni wants to talk to us? What’d you do this time, Karanthir?
KARANTHIR:
Moi? I've done nothing out of the ordinary, certainly not
anything that could warrant a talk from Vanni.
BRYNIE:
If you say so. Hey, I meant to tell you - I was talking to Grace. She
said all Es needs is a kiss to wake her up. Maybe you should try that?
ORRIE:
That won't work.
KARANTHIR:
You're right my boy, it didn't. Trust me, Es has been kissed by many, with
no results what-so-ever, myself included - and that in itself is astonishing.
BRYNIE:
Orrie, how'd you know that?
ORRIE:
Es ain't a princess. She needs to be a princess, like in the stories.
BRYNIE:
I'm surprised Grace didn't think of that. She's such a
know-it-all, yes she is. I can't wait to rub it in.
ORRIE:
I know how to wake up Es. Wanna hear?
KARANTHIR:
Of course I do, you have my utmost attention, enlighten me.
ORRIE:
'Member Aladdin? Aladdin had a genie to grant wishes.
Grace has Io. He’s a genie that grants wishes too.
BRYNIE:
Like – duh.
KARANTHIR:
I couldn't have expressed it any better myself.
KARANTHIR:
…Orrie my boy you're a genius. I'll speak to Io and
his masters as soon as we're done here.
BRYNIE:
You can’t.
KARANTHIR:
What do you mean I can’t?
BRYNIE:
They’re at Disney and won't be back for a few days. Daprima thought
it’d be good for Cammeo to get away, so they all went, even Io.
Haven't you noticed how quiet it is without Grace in the house?
KARANTHIR:
I’ve been a bit pre-occupied. No matter, I’ll get word to
them just as soon as we’re done here Seriously, what's
taking so long? I've better things do with my time.
VANNI:
Sorry for the delay. I have news that concerns all of you.
FIN:
All right Vanni, what did Karanthir do this time?
KARANTHIR:
I beg your pardon. I’ll have you know I’m completely innocent
of any wrong doing what-so-ever. Furthermore I resent
the fact you all seem to think otherwise.
VANNI:
He's right, this isn’t about him. It's about Zyfan.
Yesterday, he proposed to Phae and now they’re engaged.
FIN:
Did you know that?
KARANTHIR:
The prince informed me right after he popped the question.
VANNI:
Word travels fast, specifically to the One, and because of this,
we've been summoned to Court including you four.
KARANTHIR, BRYNIE, FIN & ORRIE:
What?!
VANNI:
That was my reaction too, but this is a big deal. Phae will officially be
presented, the engagement announced and the festivities will begin.
You're all included. Zyfan's parents want to meet Karanthir and you.
BRYNIE:
Wow! How cool is that? We’re going home, well back to our
first home. When do we leave?
VANNI:
Friday.
BRYNIE:
This Friday?
VANNI:
Yes, the griffins are on their way.
BRYNIE:
The griffins! Did you hear that Orrie? We get to ride the griffins.
ORRIE:
Unbelievable!
BRYNIE:
Hey Vanni - do you think we could visit our grandma and
grandpa while we’re there? I'd love to see them.
VANNI:
I’m sure that can be arranged.
BRYNIE:
Wow! This keeps getting better and better.
FIN:
Brynie, why don’t you and Orrie start packing?
BRYNIE:
Sure. Come on Orrie.
BRYNIE:
…They need to talk and want us out of the room.
ORRIE:
Yup. I know.
Brynie and Orrie leave.
FIN:
Vanni, this is all very exciting but I can't just pick up and go. I have work,
and Daprima … She won't even be back before these griffins arrive ...
VANNI:
I fully appreciate that and feel the same way,
but we don’t have a choice.
FIN:
You’re being awfully quiet. Did you know about this?
KARANTHIR:
I knew I’d eventually meet Zyfan’s family, but I honestly never
expected them to include you, Brynie and Orrie in the invitation.
And why now? It seems to me this should all be about Phae.
FIN:
Zyfan’s engaged. I can’t believe it. Are you OK? I mean,
how do feel about all this?
KARANTHIR:
I haven't decided but does it really matter?
FIN:
I guess not.
FIN:
…Please tell me we’re not going to be presented at Court?
VANNI:
No, just Phae and maybe Karanthir too.
FIN:
Oh good. This is way out of my comfort zone.
FIN:
… But you, you’ll fit right in. You were made for this stuff.
KARANTHIR:
Actually, do you really think I want to go? The prince certainly
doesn't. I'm sure he's dreading the entire ordeal.
VANNI:
Syrrah was apprehensive about telling him that
you’ll be meeting their mother.
KARANTHIR:
I'm not concerned about her. I'll simply turn on the charm.
Honestly, how could she resist - this.
VANNI:
She accepted me, and I'm not an elf.
KARANTHIR:
Yes, she did. So tell me, what's your secret?
VANNI:
Syrrah says it's because I made her a grandmother.
KARANTHIR:
Well, if that's all that's required, perhaps I could bed your wife
and provide another heir?
VANNI:
Sorry but you’ll have to find another way.
FIN:
Um Vanni ... exactly how long is all this going to take?
VANNI:
The festivities will go on for about two, maybe three months.
FIN:
Are you kidding me?
VANNI:
I wish I were. It’s been my experience that they like to drag these
things out. All I can say is - welcome to life at Court.
