So the youngster knows about our upcoming journey? Did you tell 

her that afterwards we’re going to your home with the Sea Clan?

SHICHI:

Not yet, but I will.

ZAM:

And you've prepared her for what will take place at Court?

SHICHI:

I have.

ZAM:

You're certain she's ready for all of this?

SHICHI

Phae's been preparing for this her whole life.  It's why 

we're here. Is there some purpose to all these questions?

ZAM:

I just like to know what’s going on is all. What about Chinatsu? I thought 

you liked her. Will you let her slip through your fingers like all the rest?

SHICHI:

What do you mean all the rest?

ZAM:

You know what I mean. If you like her, then do something 

about it. You haven't much time.

SHICHI:

Zam, this really doesn’t concern you.

ZAM:

Yes it does. I’m responsible for you, remember? These things need 

to be addressed. And what happens after the festivities 

are over, what will the youngster do then?

SHICHI:

Phae is free to do whatever she wants. She can go home to her parents, 

or she can return with Zyfan. I’m pretty sure she’ll do the latter.

ZAM:

Then she'll be without you, her advisor, and me.

SHICHI:

Maybe they'll send another one for her. What are you getting at?

ZAM:

I think the youngster needs someone to look after her, don't you?

SHICHI:

Zam, do you plan to remain with Phae? Will I be rid of you at last?

ZAM:

Of course not. I would never leave you. You saved my life and

 I'm responsible for you. Still, I don't think the youngster should be 

left alone. Someone ought to keep her company. 

SHICHI:

I’m not opposed to that. As a matter of fact, I think it's

a great idea. Do you have someone in mind?

ZAM:

Yes I do, one of my young-ins. I’ll pay her a visit and ask her. This means

I’ll need to be away from you for a bit. I hope you don’t mind?

SHICHI:

Take all the time you need. I'll welcome any break from you.

ZAM:
