… I don't care if she healed Karanthir, I don't trust her.

VANNI:

You're not the only one who feels that way about Usagi. 

Daprima shares your sentiments.

RACOLO:

Glad to hear it. I think Karanthir would've recovered on 

his own. He's part vampire – and they're pretty invincible.

VANNI:

Maybe,  but what if he were poisoned? Usagi seems to think so, 

at least that's what she told Syrrah.

RACOLO:

Really? Maybe she poisoned him just to cure him and be the hero.

VANNI:

That would make perfect sense except that Karanthir was sick before she 

got here. So the question is – who'd want to poison him, and why?

RACOLO:

Well, he is annoying. Does he know about this?

VANNI:

Not yet. No need to worry Zyfan. Syrrah’s very protective of him.

RACOLO:

This would freak him out for sure. I can understand 

not telling him, but Karanthir - well, he could be useful ...

VANNI:

All right, but I’d rather Zyfan be kept in the dark, until we have proof.

KARANTHIR:

Sounds intriguing. I’m waiting.

RACOLO:

Usagi thinks you were poisoned.

KARANTHIR:

Who'd want to poison me?

VANNI:

You're involved with Zyfan, the next ruler of his people. 

It could be completely political.

KARANTHIR:

That's a relief, I'd hate to think it was personal. After all I'm such 

a charming fellow. Hey - do you suppose the motive could be jealousy? 

Ah me, it's such a burdon to be one of the beautiful ones.

RACOLO:

I think Usagi or her husband are responsible.

KARANTHIR:

Washi? I highly doubt he'd poison me, he's more of a fighter. I'm sure 

he'd much rather come at me with brute force, which could prove 

to be quite fun. I relish a good brawl with him.

KARANTHIR:

…. And it can't be Usagi - that lovely lady simply adores me.

RACOLO:

Does she! I don't know how you can stand her after she slapped Zyfan.

KARANTHIR:

I beg your pardon?

RACOLO:

Guess he didn't tell you that, huh?

VANNI:

It's true Karanthir, but that was before she heard Zyfan's version of his affair with Washi.

KARANTHIR:

How dare that woman slap my prince! It seems Zyfan 

and I need to have a little chat.

VANNI:

If he wanted you to know about it - he would've told you.

VANNI:

… Karanthir wait, Usagi apologized and he forgave her. He probably didn't 

mention it cause you were ill at the time. Just let it be.

VANNI:

…And perhaps he doesn't need to know about the poison either

– at least until we have proof.

KARANTHIR:

Secrets and more secrets eh?

VANNI:

For a little while longer.

KARANTHIR:

I’ll agree on one condition - I’m to be told of any new updates.

VANNI:

Agreed.

RACOLO:

Karanthir, if it was poison, it could’ve been meant for Zyan so…

KARANTHIR:

I won't let him out of my sight.
