I am the Guardian of eight families.
Some are human, some are elves, some possess magic and some are vampires.
Each has their own unique talent.
They are my Crew.
It began with Daprima.
She arrived and spoke of her lost brother and sister.
Together, we found them …
… and they were reunited.
As time went by, Daprima invited others to join us,
always with my blessing. This is the way it has been for a long time.
Soon one will arrive that Daprima has not invited. She does not
want him here. She's not the only one, for he brings trouble.
He is Washi …
... a warrior elf prince from another realm.
Zyfan is part of the royal clan in his realm.
He dreads Washi's arrival, for they have a history.
Will he get closure?
He is getting closer, Washi is.
Zyfan's present lover and protector is Karanthir, who very much wants
to meet Washi. He welcomes a confrontation with him.
Washi visited us before. He came to steal what once was his, but failed.
Io is a genie who belongs to Daprima.
Washi’s family was master of this genie for centuries.
They treated him badly. Io lives in fear of Washi.
Io has many protectors among my Crew.
Jesse, his lover.
Mez, who is like a brother to him.
And Grace …
When Washi came to take Io, it was Grace who intervened.
She witnessed Washi’s brutality towards Io and put an end to it.
She hates Washi as only a child can.
Racolo arrived in time to help Grace. It was his spell that
saved Io. Racolo doesn't like Washi at all.
Washi is closer still, and he is not alone. He brings with him a wife.
A powerful necromancer, although no one among my Crew knows this.
Usagi is unaware of what awaits her. She will soon find
herself face to face with a childhood friend and foe.
Zyfan's sister, Syrrah once saved Usagi's life.
She is indebted to her.
She will also meet her estranged brother, Shichi.
She does not know he is part of my Crew.
Will theirs be a happy reunion?
They are closer still.
