Zyfan and Karanthir
Wednesday evening in Zyfan & Mez’s room …
KARANTHIR:
It’s about time my prince. Where have you been?
ZYFAN:
I did not know you were waiting for me. I just had my bath.
KARANTHIR:
I'm so sad I missed that. And look at you, all ready for bed, I guess all I can do now is tuck you in.
KARANTHIR:
… Welcome home.
KARANTHIR:
And you’ve washed your hair.
It smells wonderful. Did you
do that for me?
ZYFAN:
I am so happy to be back.
KARANTHIR:
I'm sure. So tell me all about your trip.
ZYFAN:
Do you really want to hear of it? There is so little tell.
I would rather listen to what you have been doing.
KARANTHIR:
I asked you first. Besides you know how I enjoy the sound of your voice. How was the journey home?
ZYFAN:
Unpleasant. Grace sat beside me the entire time!
I never knew such a small girl-child could talk so much.
It took all of my will not to toss her off the griffin's back.
KARANTHIR:
That must have been exhausting. You really should go to bed.
Allow me to help you with your robe.
ZYFAN:
Thank you. I missed you so much. Did you miss me too?
KARANTHIR:
Oh my prince, I had so much to do, I don’t believe I had the time.
ZYFAN:
I did not realize one needed time to miss someone.
KARANTHIR:
My apologies,but I had Orrie’s team to coach. Then there’s Jesse - someone
had to entertain him. Mez returned. And most recently there was all this
drama with Noli. Ah yes, things have been rather hectic around here.
ZYFAN:
I see.
KARANTHIR:
Honestly, I’m glad you’re back, and we’ll get all caught up
after you’ve rested. Good night my prince.
ZYFAN:
You are ... leaving?
KARANTHIR:
You need your sleep.
ZYFAN:
But … you cannot just leave.
KARANTHIR:
Oh forgive me, you’re right. I almost forgot
to give you a good night kiss.
ZYFAN:
Is that all?
KARANTHIR:
You didn’t like my kiss?
ZYFAN:
I must admit I was expecting ... more.
KARANTHIR:
Oh? Perhaps you expected a kiss that would make up
for all the time you’ve been away from me
- all twenty-two never-ending days and nights.
ZYFAN:
Twenty-two days?
KARANTHIR:
… and sixteen hours.
ZYFAN:
You have kept track? Karanthir you have missed me!
KARANTHIR:
More than I care to admit.
