ZYFAN:
Why do you leave me after I fall asleep?
KARANTHIR:
Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.
ZYFAN:
I was already awake. Answer my question, or must I ask again?
KARANTHIR:
My, you’re in a feisty mood, I think I like it …
ZYFAN:
Do not try to charm me Karanthir. I can smell the beer on your
breath. This is not the first time I have woken to find you gone.
KARANTHIR:
My apologies, but I can’t get accustomed to your early bedtime.
ZYFAN:
Then, we will come to bed later.
KARANTHIR:
My prince, you can barely keep your eyes open past ten. I’m fine
with this arrangement. I thoroughly enjoy ... putting you to sleep.
ZYFAN:
Apparently I am unable to do the same for you.
KARANTHIR:
You know that's not true. It’s just that I wake up. Blame it on the vampire in me. I get restless and need to wander off.
ZYFAN:
Directly to the bar, it seems.
KARANTHIR:
Not always. Sometimes I go for a walk, or watch TV. This evening
I met Jesse on the terrace. He’s having a rough time and felt like a drink. I couldn’t let him go alone, now could I?
ZYFAN:
So you went solely to watch over him?
KARANTHIR:
Good thing I did, poor fellow had way too many.
It was all I could do to drag him out of there.
ZYFAN:
Next time I want you to wake me.
KARANTHIR:
Just because I’m nocturnal doesn’t mean you need to be as well.
ZYFAN:
Promise me - you’ll wake me.
KARANTHIR:
Honestly, you're not missing anything ...
ZYFAN:
Promise me.
KARANTHIR:
Alright - from now on I'll wake you. I promise.
ZYFAN:
Thank you. Where are you going?
KARANTHIR:
Thought I'd have a shower. I distinctly remember being
told I stink of beer.
ZYFAN:
Come here please …
ZYFAN:
… I happen to like the smell of the beer. You can have your shower, after.
KARANTHIR:
Ah, there’s going to be an after?
ZYFAN:
Yes I am most certain of it.
