having a very important talk, yes we were, and now we’re done.

MEZ:

GRACE:

IO:

DAPRIMA:

IO:
Miss Grace wants Io to be her genie no longer. 

MEZ:

IO:

MEZ:

DAPRIMA:
It wasn’t me. Fin had a talk with her.

MEZ:

DAPRIMA:
Obviously. By any chance did she mention a fairy to you?

IO:
No Miss Daprima.

MEZ:
What’s a fairy got to do with this?

DAPRIMA:
Trust me, you don’t want to know.

DAPRIMA:

DAPRIMA:
Yes. According to Lu’s research, you started out human
and were turned into a genie. 

IO:
The genie was human?

MEZ:
See that - you were a regular bloke once, just like me.

DAPRIMA:
And somehow you ended up in the Elvin realm
with the Dessert Clan. …

IO:
The Telamaitte …

DAPRIMA:
You must’ve been captured by them and made into a slave.
That was a very long time ago when their wizards
performed a powerful spell … 

IO:
But Miss Daprima, the Telemaitte don’t have magic.
They have genie instead.

DAPRIMA:
They lost their magic when they performed this spell. They
wanted to prevent their slaves from escaping, so they
magically linked them to objects…

MEZ:
Like his lamp?

DAPRIMA:
Exactly. In the process, the magic was drained from the
wizards and landed in the objects. You, and others like you,
became the conduit to the magic.  Do you remember any of this?

IO:
No miss Daprima. 

DAPRIMA:
No matter. According to my premonitions, it’s now
time to reverse that spell. 

IO:
Then Io will no longer be a genie.

MEZ:
Yeah, won’t that be great!

DAPRIMA:
I’ve always wanted to free you from the lamp,  however, now
I know that I can’t. Instead, the lamp will need to become yours. 

IO:
Io will be master of the lamp?

DAPRIMA:
Yes. Lu and I believe the lamp holds your life-force, so you’ll
need to remain linked to it. It may still possess magic,
but as a human you’ll no longer be able to access it. 

MEZ:
You know what that means? No more wishes to grant - ever.

IO:
Io will be just a regular bloke.

DAPRIMA:
Right after I make this one last wish.
