GRACE:

I think this is very exciting, yes I do.

MEZ:

DAPRIMA:

GRACE:

and Mez is here and …

MEZ:
We don’t need a roll call Grace.

DAPRIMA:

GRACE:
Oh that’s right - we can’t have a family meeting without Io.
He’s my genie, yes he is. And Fin, well … I don’t why you’re here.

MEZ:
‘Cause when he marries Daprima, he’ll be our brother-in-law. 

GRACE:
Silly me, I forgot. Hey - then I’ll have two brothers,
yes I will. Fin, we’re going to be related.

FIN:

MEZ:

DAPRIMA:
We’re here to discuss Io.

IO:

But, the genie hasn’t done anything.

DAPRIMA:
No one said you did, but I had some premonitions about you.

GRACE:
You did? You mean you got messages from that crying bowl?

FIN:

GRACE:
… I told you you could do it, yes I did. Did you see Io granting
my wishes again? Cause I’d like that, yes I would. I’d like that a lot.

DAPRIMA:
No hon, but I‘ve seen his future. 

FIN:
So listen closely and don’t interrupt, Grace,
because this is very important.

GRACE:
What do mean ‘Grace’? I don’t go around interrupting people
when they’re talking. That’d be rude, yes it would.

FIN:
Exactly. Go on Daprima.

DAPRIMA:

and working on his own, as a human … 

MEZ:
Really! You mean no more magic? That sounds great.

GRACE:
No magic! Then he won’t be my genie anymore.
That doesn’t sound good to me.

FIN:
What happened to us not interrupting?

GRACE:
Are we interrupting? Well, if we are then he started it, yes he did.

MEZ:

GRACE:

DAPRIMA:

As - I - was - saying, in another premonition,
I saw the Desert Clan, from the Elvin realm, 

steal Io from us.

GRACE:
They can’t do that! He’s my genie, yes he is 

and no one’s taking him away from me.

MEZ:
Wasn’t Washi from that Clan? Didn’t he try this already?

GRACE:
Washi! He isn’t coming back here, no he isn’t. I don’t like him.
When he tried to steal Io before - l kicked him,

FIN:
Washi isn’t coming here. When he married Usagi he became 

part of her Clan, the Sea Clan. However, his brother is Shiekh
of the Desert Clan and they were Io’s master before you.

IO:
The genie doesn’t want to go back to them. They’re mean.

DAPRIMA:

We won’t let that to happen Io, I promise. My premonitions
were sent to prepare us. You know I’ve always wanted to
set you free, and I believe the time is coming.

MEZ:
I say we free him now. 

GRACE:

No! 

MEZ:
What do you mean no? Didn’t you just hear what she said? 

GRACE:
If he’s free then he won’t be my genie anymore.

MEZ:
If he’s not a genie - then no one would want to steal him.

DAPRIMA:
Grace sit down before you fall.

GRACE:

But Daprima, I like having a genie, yes I do. I’m the only girl in my
class with my own genie. And Io likes being my genie - don’t you, Io?

IO:
Yes Miss Grace, if it pleases you. But also, the genie
cannot go back to the Desert Clan.

GRACE:
You know what we have to do? We have to find another way,
that’s all. Then Io can stay here and be my genie forever.
Yes, that would be best, yes it would.

IO:
Io likes what Miss Grace said.

MEZ:
But Io, don’t you want to be free? 

IO:
Mez, the genie doesn’t know how to be a regular bloke. 

MEZ:
A what?

IO:
A regular bloke. Quinn said that that’s what the genie
would be if Io wasn’t a genie any longer.

MEZ:
Oh, well speaking as a regular bloke, I’ll show you how -  it’s real easy.

GRACE:
Don’t listen to him Io, He hates magic, yes he does.
He’s trying to confuse you …

FIN:
That’s not so Grace. All we want is for Io to be safe and
the best way to do that is to free him from the lamp.
Do you understand that?

GRACE:
No! All I know is - you’re trying to take my genie away
from me and I won’t have it,  no I won’t. 

GRACE:
… You have to find another way and I’m not listening
to any of you any more until you do!

FIN:
Grace come back …

FIN:
That didn’t go very well. 

DAPRIMA:
It’s pretty much what I expected.

FIN:
Maybe I should go talk to her some more?

MEZ:
You really want to take on Grace?

FIN:
She’s obviously very upset.

DAPRIMA:
She’s just a little girl, and what little girl would want to give
up her genie? Let her be for now. She’s going to need
some time to get used to this.

MEZ:
There isn’t enough time in the world - if you ask me.

IO:
Miss Daprima, when are they coming for the genie?

DAPRIMA:

Don’t worry, you’re safe for now. They won’t make an attempt
until Zyfan, Karanthir,  Syrrah, and the rest of them
return from the Elvin realm. 

FIN:
And, they’ll underestimate us and fail.

DAPRIMA:
But they’ll try again and succeed.

MEZ:
But -  we are going to free him, right? Like as soon as possible.

DAPRIMA:
I’m already working on the wish.
