24-Shall I Undress?

Thursday afternoon in Fin and Karanthir's room ...

SYRRAH:

Greetings Karanthir, am I interrupting you?

KARANTHIR:

Not at all. Fin left not thirty minutes ago and has called twice to

check on me. This illness has proven to me that my brother is an

over-protective mother. Please tell me you're here to release

me from this bed or perhaps ... join me in it?

SYRRAH:

I am pleased to see that you have not lost your sense of humor. The purpose of my visit  is to check on your progress.

KARANTHIR:

Oh what joy - you're going to examine me! Shall I undress?

SYRRAH:

No, but you may lie down.

KARANTHIR:

Anything to be helpful. So tell me, dear lady, where's Mr. Vanni?

I’m surprised he left you alone with me.

SYRRAH:

He is registering for art class, and I have no need of a chaperone.

I am going to apply pressure, let me know if it is uncomfortable.

KARANTHIR:

Are you certain you don't need me to undress?

SYRRAH:

Hahaha - you are persistent, but it is not necessary.

Place your hands in mine please.

KARANTHIR:

Syrrah, really, you have beautiful eyes.

SYRRAH:

Thank you. Now hush, I need to hear your heart beat.

KARANTHIR:

How could you possibly get an accurate reading when your

very presence sends my heart racing. It would be so

easy to just… pull you to me and ...

SYRRAH:

You will release me.

KARANTHIR:

Hey that hurts.  OW! You're pinching my ear!

SYRRAH:

You will cease this behavior NOW and let me go.

KARANTHIR:

OK. I’m sorry. Just let go of my ear! Ow.

SYRRAH:

You are fortunate I went for your ear Karanthir. As Priestess,

I know how to heal the body and also inflict the most pain. Surely you did not think you would have your way with me?  Now, how is your ear?  Shall I have a look at it?

KARANTHIR:

No. It’s fine - there’s no need for you to come near me again.

I'm just so utterly bored. Sometimes, I can't help myself.

SYRRAH:

You do not seem to put much effort into trying. Now I have good

news, you may rest on the sofa if you like, as long as you remain calm.

KARANTHIR:

Really? You've saved my life. You have no idea

what I've endured. Why, only this morning, Fin

tortured me for hours with his flute playing.

SYRRAH:

You have a very attentive brother. It is time for me to prepare your tea.

KARANTHIR:

Syrrah, you're not angry with me, are you?

SYRRAH:
Not at all.
