247 - Usagi

  Usagi     Racolo

Late Friday night in Usagi’s room ...

USAGI:

… You cannot just walk into my chambers Racolo!

RACOLO:

Bring Es back.

USAGI:

It is beyond my control.

RACOLO:

I don't believe you.

USAGI:

I cannot do as you ask.

RACOLO:

Then tell me how to bring her back.

USAGI:

Why is this so important to you?

RACOLO:

Es is my kid's mother. He needs her.

USAGI:

He needs her.

RACOLO:
That’s right.

USAGI:
It has nothing to do with you?

RACOLO:
What?

USAGI:

It is so clear to me and yet, do you truly not know it

yourself? Racolo, you are in love with her.

RACOLO:

I told you - she's my kid's ...

USAGI:

Yes, yes, she is the mother of your son. Perhaps you really are

in denial of your true feelings. You can argue all you want

Racolo, but you are in love with that vampire.

USAGI:

… And because of that, and our friendship I will tell you this:

she can be awakened, but not by me or Syrrah.

RACOLO:

Then who?

USAGI:

I shall miss you. It has been a long time since one has challenged

me as you have. I have thoroughly enjoyed debating the ways of

magic with you, but more than that, I shall miss your passion.

RACOLO:

Usagi, you have to help me.

USAGI:

I owed a debt that is now paid. I will not compromise that.

RACOLO:

 Please?

USAGI:

Have I told you that necromancy is a specialty of mine?

RACOLO:
I don’t care. Just help me get Es back.

USAGI:

Did you know the elves of my clan cannot become

vampires? We are immune. Necromancy is our gift. Understand?

Perhaps you should study it. It may help you in the future.

RACOLO:

Necromancy.  I don't  think there are any books on it at

Magick School. Where else would I look?

USAGI:

Only those of the Sea Clan have this knowledge. We are a secretive race. Tell me, if I were to leave something behind, accidentally,

an odd book or scroll - I could count on you to return it to me, yes?

RACOLO:

Yes. Thank you.

USAGI:

Very well then. I must prepare for my journey.

USAGI:

…What do think you're doing?

RACOLO:

Saying good bye ….
