Usagi Syrrah Pica
Friday, in Syrrah’s sitting room …
USAGI:
It's such a joy to hold one so tiny.
SYRRAH:
It seems my Pica likes you, Usagi. Look, she is so content.
USAGI:
I must tell you how happy I am to be with you once again,
my childhood friend. So tell me, how is Zyfan?
SYRRAH:
He is much better in body and spirit.
USAGI:
Very good. Has he remembered anything about the
vampire who attacked him?
SYRRAH:
Yes and it is most disturbing. It was Esmodonti. I never would have
thought it possible - although Zyfan insists she was not herself.
USAGI:
Vampires never are - when the feed.
SYRRAH:
I spoke with Racolo earlier. Esmodonti has been with him since it
happened. She has confessed to everything. He said he has much
to tell me. They will be returning from Magick School shortly.
USAGI:
Syrrah, there is something that I have been curious about since
I arrived. Why do allow the undead to live among you?
SYRRAH:
The undead?
USAGI:
Vampires. Esmodonti and Karanthir, and those twins, Cammeo and Herita.
I have yet to understand what they are - I only know they are unusual for humans. Also, the one in white possesses supernatural powers.
SYRRAH:
That is very perceptive of you. The twins are indeed unique. As for Esmodonti and Karanthir, I never thought of them as undead.
USAGI:
I couldn't help but notice, it is the necromancer in me. The undead can be so unpredictable, so do take care. Oh your Pica is truly a blessing.
SYRRAH:
Thank you. Here, let me take her. I hope to meet your little girl someday.
USAGI:
Ah my Yana. I miss her terribly and am looking forward to seeing
her soon. Just a few more days and we’ll be together again.
SYRRAH:
Are you leaving us?
USAGI:
I thought you knew. Yes, it is time. I have made all
the arrangements. I shall be gone with first light.
