LU:
… Qualina is your grandmother. She doesn’t belong in this time.
RACOLO:
Try telling her that. If you ask me - she’s playing with the time line. Do you know she’s meeting some guy tonight? She can’t date.
She’s got to go back and marry my grandfather.
LU:
I agree. Have you explained this to her?
RACOLO:
It’s like talking to a wall.
LU:
I'm surprised she stayed when your spell first brought her here.
RACOLO:
Me too. It’s been a huge inconvenience, that’s for sure. Oh look
at the time, I gotta check on my kid, he should be waking up now.
LU:
Inconvenience? It’s obvious they don’t realize all that
could happen. It’s time they were informed.
Later, in Harmonia and Lu's sitting room …
QUALINA:
… You've really done wonders with this room.
HARMONIA:
Thank you kindly, but we didn't invite ya here to talk about the décor.
LU:
Please Qualina, have a seat.
LU:
… Harm, you want to tell her or shall I?
HARMONIA:
I’ll do it Louisa. You explain too much. I’ll get straight to it.
Qualina honey, ya’ll need to return to your own time, now.
QUALINA:
Oh not you too! Racolo has been telling me that since
he and Aless accidentally brought me here.
HARMONIA:
And ya shoulda listened. Remember when I told ya that we become
friends in the sixties, or was it the fifties? Time's so confusing to me.
LU:
It was 1963.
HARMONIA:
She’s probably right about that. You were a much older lady then
Qualina, and ya'll made me promise to get ya back to your own time
when we met up again. Now honey, it's far too risky for ya'll to be here.
QUALINA:
Risky? I spoke to your father the day I arrived. He said there was
nothing to worry about. I would just return to the same place
and time I was at, before the spell brought me here.
HARMONIA:
Daddy doesn't always think things through the way Louisa here
does. She loves to calculate things and all. Go on and tell her Lu.
LU:
Your being here is very dangerous to the future.
HARMONIA:
Just give her an example like you did me. I believe
that'll clear things up nicely for her.
LU:
Right. Well, if something were to happen to you …
HARMONIA:
She means if you was to get hit by a car or something.
LU:
Let’s be specific - if you were to die. There'd be no you to go
back and live your life. Such a circumstance would put an end to
your line. Your son and all who come after him would all cease to be.
QUALINA:
Oh for heaven's sake! Why didn't anyone tell me this?
HARMONIA:
'Cause it wasn’t time. Ya needed to be here so you could find a reason
to pursue your magic. Plus we all had to meet, although I can’t
remember exactly why except you’re gonna seek me out in your future.
