IO:

Io will go, Miss Daprima.

GRACE:

Oh goody, you’re still here. Io, we have something for you.

It's a present and I helped pick it out, yes I did.

IO:

You did Miss Grace, is it pink?

GRACE:

See Daprima, I told you he’d want the pink ones and you went

and made me get these. I knew this was a big mistake, yes I did.

I think we should bring these right back and …

DAPRIMA:

We don’t have time for that Grace. Io will need

them today. Just give them to him.

GRACE:

Oh OK. We thought you could use some shoes. I tried

to get you the pink ones, yes I did, but she wouldn’t listen to me.

IO:

Io has never had shoes before.

GRACE:

Well that's just silly. Do you know how to tie the laces?

IO:

QUALINA:

… Are you Vanni?

VANNI:

Yes, and you must be Qualina. I’ve been waiting for you.

QUALINA:

How sweet of you. Aless told me you’re an experienced time-traveller. I was hoping for some advice. I’m thinking of 

staying for a while but ...

VANNI:

You want to know if there’ll be consequences?

QUALINA:

I do.

VANNI:

Racolo and I have discussed that a few times since you arrived. I'm afraid we have very different opinions. 

QUALINA:

I’d very much like to hear yours. 

VANNI:

He wants the wizards at Magick School to place you

back in time, to a point before you left. He thinks you won’t remember having ever been here. I believe the memory will always be with you. It may manifest in a dream or something.

QUALINA:

That makes sense.

VANNI:
I remember every place and every time I’ve been in.

The experience happened. Why should I forget it? Your time-

line has already been altered. That’s not to say it wasn’t 

supposed to be altered in the first place - which is my point.

QUALINA:

I’m not following you.

VANNI:

In your present time, you’re a student at Magick School, right?

QUALINA:

Yes. This will be my second year.

VANNI:

Forgive me for saying so but - aren’t you a little behind? 

I thought most students enroll by the age of fourteen?

QUALINA:

Yes. It seems my talents were dormant, until recently.

VANNI:

Yet, from what I hear, you become a powerful sorceress

and at a fairly young age.

QUALINA:

I do?

VANNI:

Yes. Which is why I think you’re supposed to be here.

I think this is your ... head start. So when you return,

which we know you do, you’ll go back with power.

QUALINA:

Oh, I like this theory of yours. Aless told me you ... 'travel' 

with a device? Is this something I could borrow?

VANNI:

No, it was designed specifically for me, by my father. He’s made 

one for each of my brothers and sisters  as well.

QUALINA:

I see. Thank you Vanni. You’ve been very helpful.
